A philosopher’s stones trip report, composite

The argument. A composite trip report on Tampanensis truffles at a moderate dose in Amsterdam, hour by hour, built from recurring patterns in published reports.

Revised

This is a composite trip report. It is assembled from patterns that recur in published experience reports on truffles and in Dutch harm reduction information, and it follows the timeline described in the effects chapter. It does not describe one real person. There are no names, ages or home towns, because inventing them would make it look like a testimonial, and it is not one.

The plan

Composite account. 8 grams of Tampanensis, a little over half a pack, in a rented flat in Amsterdam, with one sober friend.

Two visitors on a long weekend in Amsterdam had both tried a mild truffle once before. One of them would take Tampanensis; the other agreed to stay sober for the afternoon. They chose a Sunday, because nothing was planned for the evening, and stayed in the flat instead of going to a park, because the forecast said rain.

They had eaten breakfast at eight and nothing since. At one o’clock the truffles were chopped fine and eaten slowly with a glass of orange juice. They tasted of raw walnut with a sour edge.

0 to 45 minutes

For twenty minutes nothing happened. Then came a run of yawning, cold hands and a full, slightly queasy stomach. The urge to check whether “it was working” was strong. A recurring line in reports is the temptation to eat more at this stage; the sober friend had been asked in advance to say no, and did.

Around the 40 minute mark the wooden floor seemed to shimmer faintly, as if seen through warm air.

45 minutes to 2.5 hours

The peak came in waves. Patterns in the curtains began to drift. The rain on the window became something to watch for minutes at a time. Music, a record chosen the night before, felt layered and close, every instrument in its own place.

There was a long stretch of laughter about nothing in particular, followed by a quiet spell of thinking about family, calm and a little sad. With eyes closed there were slow geometric patterns in amber and violet. Time was hard to judge: a song seemed to last a quarter of an hour.

One moment tipped towards unease. A delivery driver rang the wrong bell, and for a few minutes the flat felt too small and the noise from the street too loud. The friend dimmed the lights, put the music back on and said it was the truffles and that it would pass. It did.

2.5 to 5 hours

The waves became gentler, with ordinary moments in between. Talking became easier again. The visual effects faded to a slight brightness in colours and a softness at the edges of things. By the fourth hour there was a strong appetite; bread, soup and fruit had been bought the day before.

At five hours the main effects were gone, but the mind still felt slow and loose. Neither of them went out. The evening was spent on the sofa with a film and an early night.

What reports like this have in common

Read side by side, published reports on Tampanensis and similar truffles share a few patterns:

None of this is a guarantee. The same dose can feel different on another day. If you plan a session, read effects and risks first, and check the legal chapter if you are not in the Netherlands.
